8. She’s Pretty Recent, All Things Considered
We’ve established how old the pyramids are, but have we established how young Cleopatra really is in history? To many of us, the Roman Empire feels like the ancient world so long ago when it was less than 2,000 years. Compare that to the Pyramids, with the oldest finishing construction over 4,000 years ago.

The world was old by the time the Roman Empire had risen, and Cleopatra, who was the last pharaoh of Egypt, is a perfect example of that disconnect. It really makes one wonder what has been lost in all the centuries.
