40. What a Time to Be Alive
Miyamoto Musashi was a famous Japanese swordsman and Ronin who lived from 1584 to 1645. He was also a philosopher, strategist, and writer. His biggest claim to fame was his unbroken record of winning duels. He won 61 without a single loss. He was responsible for writing the Book of Five Rings.

At the same time this was going on, Michelangelo was hard at work painting. Michelangelo is perhaps one of, if not the most famous, artists of his time. Born in Italy, he was known for his art inspired by the Classical style of antiquity. One of his most famous works is the frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
