26. It Couldn’t Be THAT Recent… Could It?
Frozen came out in 2013 and took the world by storm. Let It Go was played on repeat by little girls everywhere, much to the dismay of their parents, especially when we all had it stuck in our heads with no way out (If it’s stuck in your head now, you’re welcome).

Some strangeness was going on during this time, however, as during the span of that year, it was also the time Mississippi officially abolished slavery. Slavery was outlawed in the US in 1865, and while the practice stopped, several states had not officially ratified it until the early 1900s. Mississippi was the last to do it in 1995, but in an oversight, had not officially sent in the documentation until 2013.
