The age of the dinosaurs was a huge span of time, possibly even longer than humans have existed, judging by these statistics here. As it turns out, the Stegosaurus was nearly 100 million years extinct by the time of the rise of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The Stegosaurus is dated, based on fossils, to have existed about 150-155 million years ago, whereas the T-Rex was around just 66-68 million years ago. That would put the Tyrannosaurus closer to us than its Jurassic counterpart.
