17. They Should Have Just Given Everyone a Bicycle
The modern bicycle is a beautiful thing, serving as both a vehicle for travel to get you from one place to another while also providing some good exercise. Cyclists come in all shapes and sizes nowadays, and bikes have even had extra bits and bobs added over the years for convenience.

Inventors reached the final iteration that we use today just before the American Civil War broke out after going through a few changes, such as adding pedals and changing the size of the wheels. One far earlier version was a goofy-looking thing called the Velocipedes.
