#17: A Humble Man
Despite all his talent, Mantle never acted like a superstar in the clubhouse. He was known for his self-deprecating humor, often poking fun at his strikeouts or injuries. Teammates loved him for his humility and loyalty, and he often took rookies under his wing.

He’d play cards, joke around, and never acted above the game. Even with his fame, he never became distant. Mantle once said, “The only thing I can do is play baseball. I can’t sing, I can’t dance, I can’t act.” That down-to-earth attitude endeared him even more to fans and players.
