#7: Better to Be Assertive…

From such a young age, society tells us that boys and girls are different. Through this very notion, we are socialized in such completely different ways that by the time we become adults, we each have a completely different set of rules to live by. And it just so happens that most of the time, they are socially constructed and not based on necessity.

This is probably one of the biggest double standards that face men and women in life. Whilst men are considered “assertive” when they speak their minds and ask people to do things, women are considered to be “bossy” and over-step certain boundaries when they even try and do anything similar…
