#55: Stranger Danger
The world is full of dangerous, weird people, but also plenty of good people out there who want to help others. One double standard of men vs. women is the simple act of trying to interact with children in public. If a child is lost in a store and a woman talks to them to help them find their adult, it’s viewed as caring and compassionate. If a man tries the same thing, it’s a whole different story.

If a male stranger went up to a lost kid and tried to help them, others would immediately read them as a threat and interpret their actions as creepy. While it is good to keep an eye out for creeps, sometimes people just genuinely want to help. Anyone, whether they’re a man or woman, can be a creep up to no good, so it’s generally a good idea to alert a store employee of any situation like this instead of ignoring it.
