#45: Think Pink
So many colors are gendered in our society, and there’s no better example than the blue and pink situation. Pink is considered “feminine” and a “girl” color. Meanwhile, blue is considered more “masculine” and “appropriate” for boys. We do this from the womb, buying blue and pink clothes based on the sex of the baby-to-be. With this in mind, this story is no great surprise.

One male poster on the forum told a story about seeing a gorgeous pink Honda Accord while out shopping with his kids. The car was a unique, beautiful pearl pink color and he couldn’t help but compliment the woman who was getting out of this gorgeous contraption. She gave him a super weird look because apparently, men can’t think that anything pink is attractive. Insert eye roll here.
