#44: Big Brother

One guy shared that he’s experienced the double standard of women being perceived as caretakers and men being perceived as weirdos firsthand. His brother and him have a 16-year age difference between them, and the poster would always take his little bro out for fun activities when he was a kid. He would be doing completely normal big brother things, like chaperoning or playing, and get weird looks from strangers.

Many people are immediately suspicious of a grown man around younger kids. This is unfortunate because regular, non-creepy guys have to be careful when doing normal things with the kids in their lives. This guy shared that he would get suspicious glares even when his stepmom was out with the two of them, which made him extremely uncomfortable and kind of sad.
