#31: Talk Your Way Out of a Ticket

We’ve seen this happen in movies and TV, but this isn’t just Hollywood fiction. I’ve heard real-life stories and I know of real-life women who talked – or cried – their way out of getting a ticket. Of course, it won’t work every time, but some women can cry their way out of getting a ticket- something that would never work for a man.

Even if men did the same thing and started crying, that would likely generate a different reaction from the police officer. That’s because there’s something so vulnerable and apologetic about a woman crying that men just can’t handle. Don’t get us wrong- we’re not saying it’s fair, but that’s how it is.
