#33: The Office’s Mother

There are certain unspoken roles in any office that are assigned to people involuntarily. The person who always tells jokes is the office’s clown (even if he just told that one joke that one time), the person who always brings lunch is the office’s caterer (even if they just bring lunch for themselves), and the woman who is caring is the motherly figure.

However, assigning a person a role in the office during their job interview before they even got the job is weird. This woman was targeted for the role of the “motherly figure” in the office, although she was clearly the wrong person for it. She decided the job wasn’t for her, and we can’t say that we blame her.
