Independent Thought
It’s hard to imagine a scenario where it’s ever “dangerous” for someone to think for themselves, especially when it comes to young girls. Unfortunately, in some religious organizations, there is a fear that independent thinking could lead to questioning or even leaving the faith altogether. This fear is often what drives leaders to exert control over their followers and discourage any sort of deviation from the norm.

The comment made by the congregation member is not only alarming but also disturbing in its implications. It suggests that young girls are somehow vulnerable to the dangers of independent thought as if their very gender puts them at risk of straying from the faith. This kind of thinking perpetuates harmful gender stereotypes and reinforces the idea that women are somehow inferior or weaker than men.
