Refusing Help
I can’t even imagine what it must have been like to lose a classmate at such a young age, let alone to something that could have been prevented. It’s tragic that a religious belief could be so strong that it overrides basic medical care. I get it – everyone has the right to their own beliefs and all that.

But when it comes to life or death situations, I think it’s important to prioritize the health and safety of the individual. As the saying goes, “God helps those who help themselves.” Or, in this case, “God helps those who get a damn blood transfusion.” My heart goes out to this classmate’s family and friends. May they rest in peace.
