Well, this is just infuriating. I don’t know what’s worse – the fact that this poor woman was abused by her husband or the fact that the elders didn’t seem to care. I mean, what kind of advice is that? “Be a better wife, so he doesn’t get angry”? How about “Get the hell out of there and don’t look back”?

I guess it’s true what they say – sometimes, the most dangerous cults are the ones that hide behind religion. It’s a shame that some people use their faith as an excuse to mistreat others. But I’m glad this woman could break free and find the strength to leave. No one deserves to be treated that way.
