#7: As Long As it Isn’t Next to the Cafeteria…

This information is not particularly shocking in and of itself. I suppose the morgue needs to be located somewhere, and it could just as easily be located near the cafeteria or any other frequently frequented spot. And as long as there are walls in between, I don’t see why it should bother us.

However, it does raise the question of what is the specific link between the pharmacy and the morgue that makes it a consistent feature of hospital design. Were there lots of situations in older hospitals where people needed to be brought directly from the pharmacy into the morgue? Or vice-versa?
