#5: An Army of Pharmacists

Alright, here we go. Now I’m really shocked. You’re telling me that when a doctor refers a particular medication to me, they might be making a mistake, and the person who makes sure they aren’t is a pharmacist? And to top it all off, that pharmacist is one of an army of them located in the hospital basement?

This is really toying with my understanding of the system, I had always thought that doctors were at the top of the chain of command. I guess it’s good to know that being a pharmacist is a real and important profession. I used to think of them kind of like supermarket workers but with medicine and toothpaste.
