#40: Red or White?

In long-distance establishing shots of the Bundy home, the front door is unmistakably white. However, in closer shots—and on the actual set—it was always red. This glaring inconsistency didn’t go unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans, who have long debated whether it was a simple oversight or just one of those classic sitcom set blunders.

Was it a mistake? A change made mid-production? Or did the Bundys just repaint their door between takes? No official explanation was ever given, and as far as we know, no one was fired over the mix-up!
