#37: The Show’s Ratings

Despite Married… with Children’s loyal fanbase and lasting cultural impact, the show was never a massive ratings juggernaut. Its highest-ranked season—season six—only reached 29th place in the yearly Nielsen ratings, while most seasons hovered in the 50s or 60s.

However, the show found success in another way. Thanks to controversy, syndication, and a growing cult following, Married… with Children gained exposure far beyond its weekly ratings. Whether through outraged moral watchdogs or late-night reruns, the Bundys became household names.
