#31: Name Inspiration
Peg and Al Bundy’s names were actually inspired by Peg Lynch and Alan Bunce, a duo who played a married couple on several radio shows and dramas in the 1940s and 1950s. Their performances were praised for being insightful and realistic, offering a fresh take on domestic comedy.

Unlike the broad slapstick of their time, Lynch and Bunce’s work blended sharp writing with everyday humor, avoiding tired stereotypes and over-the-top antics. Married… with Children, of course, took a much more outrageous approach, turning the traditional sitcom marriage on its head.
