#26: Roseanne Almost Made the Cut

Just as Sam Kinison was once considered for Al Bundy, the role of Peggy Bundy almost went to another well-known comedian—Roseanne Barr. The producers saw her sharp, no-nonsense humor as a perfect fit for Al’s fiery, bouffant-haired wife.

However, like Kinison, Barr ultimately passed on the opportunity, choosing to focus on other film and television projects instead. Fate had other plans, and Katey Sagal’s unforgettable portrayal of Peggy made the role iconic. Looking back, it’s hard to imagine anyone else delivering those sarcastic one-liners with the same flair.
