#23: Some Episodes Were Banned

Many fans don’t realize that Fox once refused to air an episode of Married… with Children due to its mildly suggestive content. The episode, “I’ll See You in Court,” from season three, became a major target of Terry Rakolta, a Michigan housewife and anti-obscenity activist with family ties to Mitt Romney.

Rakolta’s campaign led to advertisers pulling support from the show, but the producers didn’t back down. The controversial episode remained unaired until 2002. And what was all the fuss about? Among other things, it featured Al Bundy doing what he did best—shamelessly ogling a model.
