44. The Royal Canadian Pancake Houses
The Royal Canadian Pancake House was definitely one for the ages. It was a chain of New York pancake houses named after America’s neighbor to the north (who happens to know a thing or two about pancakes and maple syrup). Interestingly enough, very little (if anything) about the restaurant’s menu had anything to do with Canuck cuisine.

It wasn’t IHOP, but if you were after a pancake the size of a small kitchen table, The Royal Canadian Pancake House would have had you covered. If not, don’t stress. They also specialized in a waffle topped with an omelet or, if you will.
