30. Dubrow’s Cafeteria
Dubrow’s was a chain of cafeteria-style restaurants that were mainly located in New York City (Manhattan and Brooklyn) as well as Miami Beach. Dubrow’s first location opened in Manhattan’s Lower East Side in 1929. Benjamin Dubrow was the founder and an immigrant from Minsk, Belarus.

Dubrow’s was actually a very important historical site for a while in Brooklyn—one on Eastern Parkway and one on Kings Highway. It has become a cultural icon, with former presidents like JFK going there to stump for votes. MLB player Sandy Koufax announced his signing with the Dodgers in front of Dubrow’s.
