Respect in Prison

Did you expect life in prison to be just like what’s portrayed in books, films, and shows? If so, the media has once again given you a faulty representation of reality, as this inmate is quick to point out. The depiction of prison we see in the media shows a lawless and violent setting, but that telling of prison life is far from the truth.

Surprisingly, it seems that prisoners follow the golden rule above all. In other words, if you are respectful and non-confrontational towards a fellow inmate, they’ll likely respond with similar behavior, no matter how threatening they appear on the outside. With that said, the potential for violence always exists for those who steer into it.
