Playing Spades

Playing games is one of the best ways to spend your time in prison. And if you get good enough, there will be some perks. Most inmates like to gamble when they play games, but they don’t always have money to wager. You’d actually be surprised by the creative solutions they find to solve this problem.

Instead of putting up money, inmates may wager what small food items they happen to have. In this story, an inmate got good enough at spades to win hundreds of packets of ramen noodles. While they can still play the game out of prison, they won’t likely win such a valuable prize again.
