Avert Your Eyes
When you walk down the street, do you make eye contact or even say hello to others? Doing so is not uncommon in the normal world, but in prison, you should be very careful about where you choose to set your gaze. According to many inmates, one wrong look it’s all it takes to get you in trouble.

Many prisoners can be incredibly territorial about the minimal space that they can call their own. The inmate in this story found that out the hard way after looking into another inmate’s cell. After getting out, that inmate no longer feels comfortable looking at people’s houses or cars due to that experience.
