Constant Hunger

In prison, you won’t just be hungry for freedom. You will also be quite hungry in a literal sense. By no means is the prison allowed to starve its inmates, but that does not mean they are serving delicious and nutritious meals three times per day.

The reality is that most of the food in prison is as bad as you would expect it to be. Likewise, it seems there is not much to go around. The female inmate in this story relates to that notion as her daily meals amounted to just 1,200 calories a day. For comparison, the general recommendation is 2,000 calories per day for the average woman.
