Prejudice

Homophobia is a harmful factor in our society, so much so that some people believe it is right to force gay people to be straight via conversion therapy. But in prison, the opposite effect can take place, as some prisoners are given no choice but to engage in homosexual activities.

As this story reveals, many of the sexual activities that take place in prison are no laughing matter. In fact, the non-consensual acts that occur in prison are not only damaging in the short term, but they can also lead to a vicious cycle in which the abused become abusers themselves.
