#23: The Multifaceted Symbolism of Iran’s Flag
Adopted in 1980, the Iranian flag’s green, white, and red stripes are laden with symbolism. Green signifies Islam and growth, white symbolizes peace and honesty, and red denotes bravery and martyrdom, reflecting the nation’s values.

At the heart of the flag features the word “Allah” and the phrase “La ilaha illa Allah” (“None is worthy of worship but Allah”) shaped like a tulip. The edges of the green and red bands are inscribed with “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”), adding deeper meaning.
