#42: ‘Sup?

When this one started, I was sure that it would be something about saying “soup” with a funny accent—maybe they’d been to Olive Garden a lot, and were a big fan of the Zuppa Toscana. (Which would make perfect sense, because if you had their Zuppa Toscana? The stuff is to die for.)

But no, it’s even better than that. I have been looking at 7UP all my life (not constantly, you understand; I do have a job and stuff), and I never thought of pronouncing the seven as a Z. But now that it has been pointed out, I can’t unsee it, and my brain is going to start wanting to call it “Zoup” as well.
