#32: Sounds Tasty

It’s a tricky thing when you learn a language just from growing up speaking it; there’s a lot of grammar and vocab stuff that you just learn by doing, and you never really understand any of the reasoning behind it. There’s a lot that I didn’t learn about English until I started learning German.

So you might hear something you think is “make ends meat” and understand that it’s a popular phrase. You invent something in your head to explain why that particular praise would be that particular way, and you just go along with it. I have to say, this person’s explanation is completely reasonable.
