#29: Scary Cephalopods

Okay, this one I definitely already knew, and I will tell you why: octopi having beaks is a trait that they share with their cephalopod cousins, the squid, and it just so happens that I am genuinely terrified of squid. It’s mostly the giant ones, although if I saw a regular-sized squid in the ocean, I would still likely faint dead away from fear.

But for some reason, my irrational fear of squid has not led me to avoid information about them; rather, I learn all I can about squid out of the sense that it is best to know your enemy. So I can inform you that both octopi and squid definitely have beaks, and they probably want to kill you, and we should all just stay out of the ocean.
