#19: Or Maybe Some People Are Just Good at Sports
This next story clearly led this poster into a very awkward situation, when they regurgitated a piece of information they had learned from a trusted teacher and therefore had no reason to doubt. When you’re young, you don’t question a lot of the things that you’re told; you just go with it.

This is one of those things that can seem harmless—why would it be bad to think that a race of people is good at sports?—but it’s actually what’s known as benevolent racism. Pigeonholing all people with a certain skin color into a certain category is still weird, even if the category is good.
