#15: Not That Kind of Indian
Like many of you, I grew up at a time when we used the term “Indian” to refer to Native Americans. These days, I try to stick with “Native American,” partly because it seems to be the more correct and polite term, but it’s also partly because it clears up a lot of confusion.

Because how confusing is it that the same term refers to two completely different and unrelated groups of people? My confusion, though, is nothing compared to this poster’s; at least I did not spend the first part of my life completely misinformed about my people and continent of origin.
