#45: Don’t Do the Crime if You Can’t Do the Time
Sometimes, people feel compelled to argue, even if they’re arguing against their case. Now, we don’t know what this person was on trial for, but if the judge wanted to give him two years of jail time, it must have been something pretty serious… regardless, his lawyer was doing his job and was trying to get him only one year.

For some reason, this person decided to intervene and tell the judge he might as well give him three years! I’m not sure if he was being sarcastic or serious; maybe he thought he deserved more time to pay for his crimes? It sounds like the judge took his suggestion and gave him three years, and his lawyer was probably facepalming hard.
Thanks for reading about all these wild cases and “oh sh*t” moments in the courtroom and beyond. Some of these lawyers had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they went to law school. Hopefully, they enjoy their jobs the rest of the time!
