#35: A Life Lesson to All of Us

There’s a life lesson to all of us here, even if you aren’t a lawyer and might never step foot inside a courtroom (we should all hope so): it’s always better to own up to your mistakes rather than lie about it and try to cover your tracks. Chances are people are going to find out anyway, so trying to hide it will only make things worse.

This one lawyer learned this lesson the hard way: he misplaced some of the documents he was supposed to have, and rather than asking to resend them, he claimed he never had them in the first place. I bet he felt pretty silly and embarrassed once the truth came to light, but I can see why he tried to cover up for his mistake… Sometimes, the pressure gets to you and makes you do stupid things.
