#30: Whoa

This one took a pretty dark turn, and I wasn’t prepared for it. So far, all of the stories on our list have been either funny or sad, but this one is creepy, to say the least. This lawyer shared that they once worked on an insurance case for alleged arson. According to protocol, the insured had to provide a list of all the items that were lost in the fire – so far, so good.

That’s when things took a weird turn: among the list of lost items, he listed over 1000 books – all biographies of different serial killers throughout history. Look, I like true-crime documentaries and TV shows about serial killers just as much as the next person (I’m currently watching Dahmer on Netflix), but reading every serial killer biography ever written? That sets off alarm bells in my mind.
