#41: Was the Co-Owner of a Hotel in Terre Haute
In the late 1980s, Bird became part-owner of a hotel in Terre Haute, Indiana, called “Larry Bird’s Boston Connection.” The boutique spot was filled with Celtics memorabilia, Bird-themed décor, and photos chronicling his rise. It allowed fans to stay somewhere that felt like a museum and shrine.

While the business didn’t last forever, it showed Bird’s interest in giving back to Terre Haute—the town that embraced him during his Indiana State days. It was quirky and heartfelt, and like much of Larry’s off-court life, it was about connecting to the people who supported him.
