#6: The Formation of The Doors
Ray Manzarek invited Jim Morrison to perform, leading to Morrison’s brief stint with Rick & the Ravens. The group, performing at Turkey Joint West, welcomed guitarist Robby Krieger. Their first demo gave Jim his debut listening experience of his own voice.

In 1965, inspired by Aldous Huxley’s novel ‘The Doors of Perception’, Morrison suggested their band name. After a failed partnership with Columbia Records due to a lack of a producer for their album, the band departed, a move Columbia would deeply regret.
