Considering that any weapon, real or fake is not allowed on an airplane, you would assume that people would know not to bring these types of things with them when they travel if they don’t want them confiscated. Especially if they happen to be in possession of an antique cannon…

Aside from the whole “I’m going to try and bring an antique cannon on a plane” thing, surely this would have cost so much in weight? There are so many strange things about this particular item that we don’t even know how to process this. Next time maybe go through the postal service if it is so precious…
