#2: Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan

Priscilla Chan’s unlikely encounter with a “nerdy” sophomore named Mark Zuckerberg dates back to 2003 when they found themselves queuing for the restroom at his “going-away” bash. At the time, Zuckerberg had just unleashed a mischievous website he believed would surely lead to his expulsion from Harvard.

In 2012, Chan and Zuckerberg exchanged vows in a surprise ceremony following her graduation from medical school. Their joint venture, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, was born in 2015, with a commitment to channeling 99% of their Facebook fortune towards creating a brighter tomorrow through advancements in education, the justice system, and healthcare.
