Understanding Canine Color Perception
Contrary to popular belief, dogs aren’t confined to a black-and-white world; they perceive more than just shades of gray. Recent research has debunked the myth of total canine colorblindness, revealing that dogs can distinguish certain colors beyond mere light-and-dark contrasts.

However, the color spectrum visible to dogs remains significantly narrower than what humans experience. Although they cannot detect the full rainbow that humans enjoy, dogs can differentiate between certain colors, notably blue and yellow, expanding our understanding of their visual capabilities.
