You wanna talk about a real speeding machine? Let’s go back in history and look at the first person ever convicted of speeding. Now, remember, cars back then were not what they are now. The first person ever caught speeding was speeding at only eight miles per hour… which is definitely an interesting fact to have rolling around in your noggin.

The man who was caught speeding went by the name Walter Arnold. The event depicted here occurred in 1896. According to eyewitnesses at the time, he was tearing through the streets of Paddock Wood (located in Kent, England) when he was stopped and fined a shilling for his crime. We probably had to have been there to really understand the terror he inflicted upon the townsfolk.
