#23: The Vinyl Record Era

In the 1970s, the vinyl record was essential for any party, sold at popular spots like Record Stores, Camelot Music, and Peaches Records & Tapes, initially priced between $6-$7. Their value now ranges from $10-$100. Nearly everyone had a record player, and it was rare to find a house without at least a radio, RCA being a household name.

Iconic albums such as Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” (1975), Joni Mitchell’s “Blue” (1971), and Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” (1971) defined the 70s. These vinyl classics originally found in every music lover’s collection are now treasured finds on eBay, often priced between $10 to $30, a testament to their enduring legacy and appeal.
