#19: Photo Booths

From the 1950s to the 1980s, photo booths ruled, with Hot Shots cashing in on their popularity. Found in malls during the ’70s, these booths offered a quick, affordable way to capture moments with loved ones at a time when photography was a luxury. They became a cherished avenue for preserving memories before the era of digital snapshots.

As photography became more accessible and affordable, the allure of photo booths began to wane. Despite this, these nostalgic machines have not disappeared completely. Present in many malls, they continue to offer a tangible piece of the past, albeit at a higher price than their heyday in the ’70s, allowing for a unique, if slightly costly, trip down memory lane.
