#45: “He wants you, too, Malachai!”
One of the creepiest movies to hit the big screen in the early ‘80s, yet another Stephen King adaptation wormed its way into horror movie lovers’ hearts. This time, it was Children of the Corn. The entire film was shot in just four weeks with a budget of under $800,000.

Easter eggs abound in this film. For one, a copy of Stephen King’s The Night Shift, a collection of short stories including Children of the Corn, is on the dash of Burt and Vicki’s car. For two, Hemingford is the “safe place” in this story and The Stand, another one of Stephen King’s epic stories.
