#39: “This ain’t no funeral home!”

The mid-’90s were epic for kitschy horror films, and Tales from the Hood is no exception. This 1995 film was good enough to warrant two more films. The house below has seen a significant overhaul since then. It’s Simms Funeral Home in Los Angeles, California, in the movie, but it seems to be a regular house when it isn’t moonlighting for ‘90s horror flicks.

There are many fun but wholly inappropriate tidbits about this movie to be found online. One of the tamest is that Mr. Simms, played by Clarence Williams III, has his actual parents in the film’s third section. The film’s premise is all about a funeral director that traps dealers in his house of horrors.
