#37: “They’re here!”

If I didn’t know better and there were no cars in the second shot, I’d almost believe these photos were backward. Poltergeist was released in 1982, but that paint job in the “now” photo looks straight out of the ‘70s. Some interesting facts: Heather Michael O’Rourke, the girl who played Carol Anne, was in several films before her untimely death.

She died of a heart attack at the age of 12. She lived an extraordinary life before that and even kept the pet goldfish that Carol Anne had in the film. Dominique Dunn, who played Carol Anne’s sister, Dana Freeling, is buried in the same cemetery. She died at the age of 22, six years before O’Rourke.
