Probably one of the most well-known movies from the ‘70s, Jaws started a mass panic about shark attacks. The movie is good, but the ancillary effect was thousands of unnecessary shark deaths and contests to see who could kill the most. Still, the acting was superb, and it’s a movie well-loved by many.

The lighthouse in the film is the Gayhead Lighthouse located in Aquinnah Circle, Massachusetts. The “now” photo was taken in 2013, and two years later, the lighthouse was moved 130 feet inland so that it wouldn’t topple off the eroding cliffside. As for the billboard in that same scene, it was erected solely for the movie and taken down shortly after.
